Foster to Ad

At Reborn Rescue, our Foster to Adopt program is designed to ensure the best possible match between our rescue dogs and their future forever homes. This program allows individuals or families who are seriously considering adoption to foster one of our dogs for a three-month trial period with full support from our team every step of the way.

At the end of the three months, if both the foster and Reborn Rescue agree the placement has been successful, the adoption will be finalized, officially giving the dog a permanent and loving home.

This thoughtful approach helps us make lasting, successful matches while giving our rescues the chance to thrive in a stable, supportive environment.

Requirements & Responsibilities

All foster dogs will be spayed or neutered prior to adoption. If a foster dog is under six months of age, the foster will be responsible for ensuring the dog attends its scheduled spay/neuter appointment, which will be fully covered by Reborn Rescue.

  • Fosters must provide a safe, stable, and loving environment for the dog while they are in their care.

  • All other pets in the household must be up to date on rabies vaccinations and spayed/neutered.

  • Fosters must provide Reborn Rescue with the name and contact information of their current veterinary clinic.

  • Any routine medical expenses for the foster dog, such as vaccinations, deworming, and spay/neuter, will be covered by Reborn Rescue. However, any additional veterinary care unrelated to the dog’s rescue status (e.g., personal injuries or illnesses caused by the foster’s own pets) will be the responsibility of the foster.

  • Fosters must be willing to work on basic training, socialization, and providing structure for the dog to prepare them for adoption.

  • Fosters should be prepared to provide regular updates and photos of their foster dog.

  • A home visit and phone interview will be conducted prior to approval as a foster home.

Process & Application

Interested fosters must fill out a foster application, providing details about their home, current pets, and experience with dogs.

  • Phone Interview - Once an application is reviewed, Reborn Rescue will conduct a phone interview to discuss expectations, answer any questions, and ensure the foster home is a good fit.

  • Home Visit - A representative from Reborn Rescue will conduct a home visit to ensure the home environment is safe and suitable for fostering.

  • Foster Match & Placement - Once approved, fosters will be matched with a dog based on their home environment and experience level. Fosters will receive all necessary supplies, including food, a collar, leash, crate, toys, bowls and any medications.

  • Ongoing Support - Throughout the fostering period, Reborn Rescue will provide guidance, resources, and any necessary veterinary care for the foster dog.

  • Home Checks - Home visits and follow-up phone calls will occur to ensure the dog’s well being.

  • Foster to adopt - Our foster to adopt approach allows a foster family a 3-month trial period to ensure that the placement for our rescues is successful. After 3 months if the foster family wishes to adopt, the adoption process will begin.

Indemnity - The foster releases Reborn Rescue from any liability or damage claims.
