Surrendering to Reborn Rescue

At Reborn Rescue, we specialize in small dogs, 30 lbs and under. Unfortunately, we are not equipped to house larger breeds or cats. If you need to surrender a larger dog, please refer to our list below for alternative animal facilities.

Reborn Rescue accepts surrenders on a case-by-case basis. If you need to surrender a dog, please contact us to make proper intake arrangements. Abandoning or dumping dogs on our property is not only unsafe for the animals but also unacceptable. Every surrender must go through the proper process to ensure the best outcome for the dog.

To help us provide the best care possible for every dog that enters Reborn Rescue, we require current veterinary records at the time of surrender. Please email all available records to rebornrescue@gmail.com as part of your surrender request.

Surrender fees are based on the dog’s current veterinary status and help offset the immediate medical care required upon intake:

  • No Surrender Fee

Dogs that are fully up to date on core vaccines and rabies and are spayed or neutered.

  • $50 Surrender Fee
Dogs that are spayed or neutered but not current on required vaccinations.

  • $100 Surrender Fee
Dogs with no current veterinary care that are not spayed or neutered.

These fees directly support vaccinations, spay/neuter services, and other essential veterinary care needed to prepare each dog for a safe foster placement and eventual adoption.

Hardship Consideration:
Reborn Rescue understands that unexpected life circumstances can arise. If you are experiencing financial hardship, please note this in your surrender request. Each situation will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and surrender fees may be reduced or waived when appropriate. Our goal is to keep dogs safe while treating every individual with compassion and respect.

Reborn Rescue is a foster-based rescue, and all dogs are placed into approved foster homes within 24 hours of intake. Your cooperation helps us act quickly and responsibly for every dog in our care.

For the safety and well-being of our dogs, Reborn Rescue requires proof of ownership for all owner surrenders. This helps ensure that every dog entering our care is being surrendered by their legal owner and protects against unauthorized or fraudulent surrenders.

Acceptable forms of proof of ownership include one of the following:

  • Veterinary records

  • Rabies Certificate

  • Adoption or purchase contract

  • Microchip registration

  • City or county dog license/registration

  • Pet insurance documentation

  • Grooming records

  • Training records

  • Boarding or daycare records

  • Both required if only proof of ownership

    • Photos showing long-term possession (with timestamps or dates)

    • Social media records showing long-term ownership
